We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school. All pupils on the SEND register are fully included in mainstream school life. Our SENDCOs work alongside all teachers and staff in the school to provide access to the curriculum for those with special educational needs and disabilities. Our SEND team works with outside professionals in developing Individual Educational Plans for those students who require this support, so that they may develop their potential and find their own success.
Students who demonstrate advanced academic abilities or have shown particular talents outside of the classroom benefit from our MAGT programme wherein they are provided the stretch, challenge, and support needed to meet the measure of their potential. This includes a wide array of extracurricular activities, competitive teams and clubs, as well as top-end classroom differentiation.
Many of our students, from 45+ nationalities, are already proficient in English as a personal and academic language. For those who are developing their English in a school context, we provide specialist support both within the mainstream classroom and through an intensive English programme.
Given the quick pace of IGCSE and A-Level courses, students in Years 10 and upward should be fluent or close to fluency in order to fully access the curricula.
English is the language of communication within lessons, aside from Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) and Mother-Tongue Language classes.
