Inclusion

Inclusion

Cambridge School of Bucharest demonstrates a clear commitment to the promotion of diversity and equality. We actively promote the Fundamental British Values of tolerance, liberty, mutual respect, the rule of law, and democracy, ensuring that our school community reflects these principles in all that we do.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

We take pride in being an inclusive school. All students on the SEND register are fully included in mainstream school life. Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinators (SENDCOs) work closely with teachers and staff across the school to ensure access to the curriculum for students with special educational needs. Our SEND team collaborates with external professionals to develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for students who require additional support, helping them to reach their full potential and find success.

More Able, Gifted, and Talented (MAGT)

At CSB, we recognise and nurture students who demonstrate advanced academic abilities or exceptional talents outside the classroom. Our More Able, Gifted, and Talented (MAGT) programme provides the necessary stretch, challenge, and support to help these students realise their full potential. This includes a wide range of extracurricular activities, competitive teams, clubs, and differentiated classroom learning opportunities to ensure these students are continually challenged and inspired.

English as a Second Language (EAL)

Given the diversity of our student body, with students representing over 45 nationalities, many of our students are already proficient in English as both a personal and academic language. For those who are still developing their English language skills, we provide specialist support within the mainstream classroom and through an intensive English programme. This support ensures that all students have the necessary language skills to succeed in their academic studies.

For students in Years 10 and upward, fluency in English is crucial to fully engage with the IGCSE and A-Level curricula. As English is the primary language of instruction, aside from Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) and Mother-Tongue Language classes, it is important for students to be fluent or close to fluency to fully access their lessons and academic content.

At CSB, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive, supportive environment that accommodates all learners, regardless of their background or needs.
