A Tradition of University First-Choices
At the heart of every journey at Cambridge School of Bucharest lies a commitment to shaping confident, successful, and well-rounded individuals. We are immensely proud of the fact that, year after year, our students gain admission to their first-choice universities in their preferred fields of study. This is not merely a pattern, it is the outcome of a deeply considered and holistic educational approach that prioritises academic excellence, personal growth, and real-world readiness.
CSB has long held a reputation for nurturing students who are not only academically strong, but also driven, socially aware, and ambitious. The path to university begins from the earliest years of our Primary curriculum and is woven through every stage of learning in Secondary (ages 12 – 18). When students begin deciding their IGCSE subjects, as well as their A Levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), they do so with confidence, a growth mindset and a global perspective. However, academic achievement is not the only defining quality of the CSB experience. What truly sets our school apart is the way in which our students are supported and encouraged to grow as whole people.
Learning Beyond the Classroom

“[My time at CSB] provided me with great extracurricular opportunities that helped me discover my passions and ultimately led me to making my university decision,” Andrei, Class of 2025.
We believe that education should never be confined to textbooks and exams. Learning extends far beyond the classroom, with students being involved in a rich array of extra-curricular activities, ranging from the creative arts, to sports, debate, and robotics. They give their time to meaningful community-service projects, often working with local NGOs through our school’s non-profit foundation, the Oak & Elm Foundation. They take part in academic and sports competitions, volunteer in healthcare, educational, community service, or environmental initiatives, and complete internships with leading organisations. These opportunities allow students to develop real-world skills, explore potential career paths, and build a sense of purpose. These experiences also play a crucial role in shaping university applications that reflect both competence and character.
Personalised University Guidance

“I am truly grateful for all the help I received during my application process, from recommendation letters to guidance on required documents,” Carina, Class of 2025.
Our university guidance programme is another cornerstone of CSB’s success. With a full-time, dedicated counsellor on staff, each student receives tailored support from the moment they begin considering higher education options. Through one-on-one support, parent meetings, university fairs, careers assemblies and workshops, and guidance on applications and personal statements, our students are equipped to approach the application process with confidence and clarity. Whether they’re applying to art school or pursuing dentistry, the goal is always the same: to help each student discover the right fit for their ambitions and abilities, and to guide them towards achieving it.
Prestigious Destinations Worldwide

“Cambridge School of Bucharest has shaped my journey to Les Roches by providing a strong academic foundation and an international perspective. Studying Travel and Tourism gave me a basic understanding of the industry, introducing key concepts and reinforcing my passion for hospitality,” Rebeca, Class of 2025.
This individualised approach has yielded outstanding results. In recent years, CSB students have gained acceptance to some of the most competitive and prestigious universities in the world. These include institutions in the United Kingdom such as the University of St Andrews, University College London, the University of Edinburgh, Goldsmiths University of London, the London School of Economics, the University of Warwick, University of Bristol, King’s College London, and Royal Holloway. In the United States, our students have received offers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Carnegie Mellon University, the Rhode Island School of Design, Virginia Tech, Texas State University, Mercer University, and the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Across Europe, students have been welcomed at institutions such as IE University in Spain, UIC Barcelona, ESADE, Bocconi University, NABA in Italy, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and LUISS Guido Carli. We are also proud to include the University of Bologna, a globally respected public institution in Italy ranked #133 worldwide, among the destinations chosen by our students.
Amongst the list of university offers, our Class of 2024 have attended a multitude of STEM-focused institutions, which is a continuing trend in our Class of 2025 students. These include ETH Zurich, ranked #7 globally in the QS World Rankings 2025, the Technical University of Munich, ranked #28, Delft University of Technology, placed at #49 in these rankings, as well as Eindhoven University of Technology, Trinity College Dublin, and Politecnico di Milano. These offers not only reflect the high academic standards of our graduates, but also CSB’s strength in preparing students for rigorous scientific, technological, and engineering fields.
In Switzerland, students have also gained entry to elite hospitality and management institutions such as Les Roches and EHL Hospitality Business School, which continue to attract those with interests in luxury business, international hospitality, and entrepreneurship.
Diverse Pathways and Bright Futures

Key Stage 5 Science students at science internship at Biofarm.
“Being at CSB is a big reason why I chose this career, as the teachers here inspired the love I have for the sciences, and I will always be grateful for that and for the support I received from them,” Carla, Class of 2025.
Perhaps what is most remarkable is the diversity of the fields our graduates are now entering. From Arts and Design to Ancient History, from Music to Law, Business Administration to Economics, our students are following unique and challenging paths. Others are embarking on degrees in Architecture, Dentistry, International Relations, Medical Sciences, Psychology, and Engineering. This breadth is not accidental, it is a testament to the flexibility and depth of the education we provide, and the quality of the guidance students receive throughout their school years.
Each one of these success stories carries with it a narrative of growth, hard work, and personal triumph. Behind every offer letter is a student who has explored their interests, overcome challenges, and discovered their voice. For some, that has meant hours spent perfecting a portfolio for art school; for others, it has involved late nights studying for science exams, or afternoons mentoring younger peers. It is this rich tapestry of experience that makes CSB graduates so compelling to universities, and so prepared to meet the demands of university life.
Looking Forward with Purpose

As we look to the future, we remain committed to offering the kind of education that not only prepares students for university, but also empowers them to thrive in life. We are continually investing in new opportunities, partnerships, and learning experiences to ensure that every student leaves CSB with a sense of confidence and belonging – and with a future full of possibility.
Our university successes are more than milestones; they are reflections of the values we live by as a school. We are immensely proud of our students’ achievements, and of the teachers, mentors, and families who have supported them along the way. Together, we celebrate not only where our students have gone, but the people they have become. Their success is our inspiration.
