House System

House System

A house system is an important part of life in a British school and a wonderful way to build community and create opportunities for students to connect.

At CSB, each student is assigned to their House upon enrollment.

Our Houses are:

  • Brancusi – A sculptor, painter, photographer, and pioneer of modernism.
  • Comaneci – A five-time Olympic gold medalist, and the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect 10 (gymnastics) at the Montreal Olympic Games.
  • Enescu – A composer, violinist, pianist, conductor, and teacher. He is regarded by many as Romania’s most important musician.
  • Muller – A novelist, poet, essayist, and recipient of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Students of all ages are encouraged to get involved to help their Houses and achieve the most points by the end of each academic year.

Our House system has may events and competitions that take place throughout the year, including:

  • Speed sculpting
  • Basketball shoots outs
  • Poetry competitions
  • Art competitions
  • Chess, and more!

All of these events are selected and inspired by our House Leaderships teams which comprise of House Captains, Sports Captains, as well as Deputies in both Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9) and upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6).

The House System provides opportunities for students to develop all aspects of their growth and learning. Houses promote values of fair play, teamwork, citizenship, mutual responsibility, self-discipline, initiative, perseverance, community, and resilience.
