School's History


Founded in 1994, Cambridge School of Bucharest has grown from a modest student body of just ten students to a leading educational institution within the city. Since 2002, the school has been licensed by Cambridge University and is an official centre for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), thus offering a truly British education to students of a variety of nationalities, languages, and backgrounds. To best serve our student body, Cambridge School employs English as our lingua franca in all classes, save Modern Languages, so that each and every student is on equal footing with his or her peers.

Cambridge School offers a cohesive and comprehensive academic structure that supports students at every age, from kindergarten through to High School. Our students follow a rigorous and challenging school system modelled on the British National Curriculum and supported by CIE preparation and qualifications from Cambridge Young Learners in the lower school all the way to A Levels in their final year with us. We encourage all of our students to strive for the highest levels of academic excellence and endeavour to nurture a passion for learning in pupils at every stage of their school life and beyond.

Our students are supported throughout the school by an expanding faculty of experienced subject specialists. In addition to this, each tier of the school is represented by an Academic Quality Controller (AQC) who works closely with pupils, parents, and staff to help maintain a warm and constructive academic environment for all.
