Our school has a very strict rule regarding communication with parents. To avoid any misunderstandings, there is an Academic Quality Controller (AQC) assigned, who will always meet with parents or guardians in order to help with and explain any questions that may arise. There will be special one-to-one meetings arranged between parents and the person in charge to discuss the students’ academic and behavioral performance.
Our academic year is divided into three semesters. During each semester, there are 2 weekly AMS from English and Math, and at least one periodic from each other taught subject as ATR, science, social studies for grades 1 to 6 and from physics, chemistry, biology, geography and history for grade 7 and 8. In addition, each semester finishes with Final Exams which consist of the material taught during the whole term from the subjects and sub-subjects mentioned above.
The curriculum is broad and balanced. While there is an emphasis on acquiring the basic and essential skills of literacy and numeracy we also provide an education that includes the sciences, the humanities (geography and history), the creative arts (music, art and drama) and physical and social skills.
Information Technology (computer skills) is taught across the whole curriculum as it plays an important part in all areas of the curriculum.
We are proud to say that all our Grade 1, 2 and 3 students successfully passed the Cambridge exams for Young Learners that are being held each year in our school. The Starters, Movers and Flyers exams test the students on their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills, making learning fun as students are encouraged to work towards certificates issued by Cambridge, stating the record of their progress The Primary Programme provides teachers with a benchmark to inform their teaching and easily measure students progress against an international standard. The Cambridge International Primary Program enables students to progress seamlessly into a variety of middle years curricula, including Cambridge Checkpoint.
Cambridge Checkpoint links the Cambridge International Primary Program to IGCSE. Thus the Checkpoint Framework covers the early and middle years of education and ends with diagnostic tests in Mathematics, English and Science that indicate a student's readiness to begin IGCSE courses.
