It is very often said that “a journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step”. For us Cambridge that one step was actually the opening of the school. On inception, our dream was to deliver high quality education that would match up to today’s international standard to all our students. Years later, we are proud to say that we have reached and even surpassed our common goal, by not just delivering high quality education to students, but by creating avenues for them through which they can practically exhibit the knowledge gained from school.
In the 2010/2011 academic year, Cambridge School of Bucharest has participated in two dynamic programs, which has provided us with an opportunity to recognize the excellence of our students.
DEBATE: Our debate team again had the opportunity to participate in the Annual International School’s Debate.
MUN: On a much larger scale in the course of this same academic year, we have been privileged to also take part in the world’s greatest diplomatic movement for youths: Model United Nations. Although it’s an entirely new program and concept to the school, our students had the chance to participate in not just one, but two MUN conferences. MUN being a program that looks to absolutely simulate organs of the United Nations put our students in positions of our world’s most influential decision takers.
The next stop was Bucharest International Student’s Model United Nations (BISMUN) Conference (23rd of March till the 28th of March), which actually is the biggest MUN conference held in Romania Annually. This year’s Conference held at the Romanian House of Parliament afforded our students the opportunity to meet world renowned diplomats like the Romanian Senate President, Mircea Geoana and other season professionals.
